A Master Bathroom Makeover for the Thompson Family

The Thompson family’s master bathroom on Crestwood Drive needed an updated look to match the elegance of the rest of their home. EZ Bath took on the challenge of transforming the space, creating a functional and visually stunning bathing experience by integrating both the shower and bathtub areas. With custom design solutions and high-quality materials, this remodel turned their bathroom into a luxurious retreat.

Shower and Bathtub Remodel: Creating a Unified Space

The first step in this transformation was removing the existing shower and bathtub to create a connected, cohesive bathing area. By building a deck that linked the two, we were able to maximize functionality while maintaining a sophisticated design. The shower remodel involved taking down the existing separator wall between the left vanity and the shower, replacing it with a half (pony) wall to open up the space and create a more expansive feel.

We used the Schluter Kerdi Tile System for the shower’s tile backing, ensuring a waterproof and durable foundation. For the shower base, the family opted for the Onyx Collection in a Sandstone finish, adding a sleek and elegant look to the shower area. The result was a beautiful, open space that combined modern functionality with timeless style.

Bathtub Remodel: Elegance and Practicality

The Thompson family’s old alcove corner bathtub was replaced with a stunning drop-in oval tub. We created a custom tub deck to support the new bathtub, and the deck was topped with luxurious quartz, which matched the newly installed vanity countertops. The seamless integration of the tub deck and countertops tied the entire bathroom design together, giving the space a unified and polished appearance.

Design Challenges: Adding a Unique Touch

One of the most exciting challenges of this project was meeting the customer’s request for something that would give the bathtub area an extra “oomph.” To exceed expectations, we created a custom accent feature near the bathtub by matching the shape of the existing window and using it as inspiration for a decorative accent and additional shelf space. This unique concept not only added visual interest but also provided extra functionality, and the customer was thrilled with the final result.
