When you come to us, you can expect your bathroom remodel to go nice and smoothly. That being said, since we started our company, we have heard some disastrous stories from people who haven’t been as fortunate with their remodeling project. If you want to find out more about the hilarious complaints that we have heard, then take a look below.

The first story is about a couple who wanted to get a new bathroom put in. They asked if it was possible to have two separate toilets installed, thinking that the company would use their initiative when it came to things like privacy. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. The company installed both toilets within a foot of each other, with no partition walls or anything in-between. They thought that having a little bit of space between each toilet was more than enough, but the homeowner did not agree. It’s safe to say that the his and hers toilets were far too close for comfort.

An Attempt to Save Money- Gone Wrong

The owner of a bar hired a bathroom remodeling company to take care of their bar toilet upgrade, alongside their home upgrade. This seemed like a logical choice as the company said that they could give them a better deal if they got both projects tackled at the same time. This did not work out well for the homeowner though. The company installed half-sized doors, and this didn’t leave much room for privacy. The door only covered up 25% of what it should have done and this lead to some awkward conversations. Sure, the parts you’d like covered up, would be, but you would be face-to-face with the person next door. This would lead to some rather uncomfortable encounters, to say the least.

Awkward Angles

The company that installed this bathroom promised that there would be enough room to have three separate urinals. Although they did what they said they would, it’s safe to say that the end result wasn’t as expected. The three urinals were all at different heights and they were bunched so close next to one another in a tiny closet space. They were so close, that you probably couldn’t have more than one person at a time, even if you wanted to. The company clearly wanted to account for those who are smaller in stature, but it didn’t go too well.

Face-Off- Bathroom Edition

Another bathroom installation that went very, very wrong. It’s hard to say at which point things took a turn for the worst. First of all, the client opened the door to find that there is no wall between the two toilets. On top of this, the toilets face one another. The only thing that this bathroom is truly missing is a chess set, as this would allow you to intensively stare at the other person, with a good reason. It’s safe to say that this is one of the most awkward bathroom designs to date, and the owner of the property was not happy with the end result. Luckily, the issue can be resolved temporarily by putting up something like a shower curtain between the two toilets.

Butt to Butt

This is yet another awkward bathroom installation that could have been avoided with a little communication. The company who carried out the installation informed the client that the job had been done, and they were surprised when they weren’t happy. In this installation, there are three urinals, and it is great that they are all the same height, but using them might be uncomfortable. In a small box room, there’s a urinal on each wall, with very little space to move around. Even though everyone is facing a wall, and therefore covered in terms of privacy, you would actually be butt to butt if you went at the same time as someone else.

Pit-Stop

One person uncovered a bathroom disaster when they stayed at an AirBNB. It’s safe to say that they didn’t feel entirely comfortable using it either. The bathroom was in-between the second and third floor of the house, and unfortunately, it lacked a bit of privacy. There were no walls or door to the bathroom. It was completely open and if someone came up, or went down the stairs when you were doing your business, then it would certainly be an awkward interaction. It’s safe to say that the person who took this photo didn’t stay there again.

Practicality- An Afterthought

This bathroom might not seem like a disaster when you compare it to the above stories, but the client wasn’t happy with the result, to say the least. When they took a tour of their brand-new bathroom, they found that the toilet was at the opposite end of the room to the toilet paper. If you did have to go, then you would have to run a short marathon just to access the toilet paper.

Frosted Doors are Supposed to Offer Privacy!

If you want a bathroom installed then the remodeling company will probably tell you that frosted doors are great, because they offer you a high level of privacy. This sure is the case, but only when you use them in the right situation. When this client requested frosted doors, they did not expect this result. The company put the toilet in a cubicle, and they put a frosted door in for privacy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t quite private enough, because it’s very easy to see right through. Luckily this was an easy fix for the company, as a new door was all that was needed to resolve this awkward, privacy blunder.

A Toilet with Plenty of Breathing Room

A client once asked a company if they could have a toilet with plenty of breathing room. They didn’t want it stuck in a corner surrounded by cabinetry, and both the client and the service provider thought that they had a clear understanding of the job. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. When they opened the door to see their new bathroom, they saw that the company had just put the toilet in the middle of the room. Well, the client did get what they asked for, but at the same time, a bit of logic would have gone a long way!

Space-Saving Toilet

This client asked the installation company if they could have a toilet that was nice and narrow so that there would be more space in the bathroom for other facilities. The company went out and they found the slimmest toilet they could, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet the client’s, or anyone’s requirements for that matter. The toilet was so thin and long that it was impossible to sit on comfortably, in fact, the design should never have been approved for a toilet anyway.

A Sink-Urinal Conversion

Yet another bathroom disaster! One person wanted to have their bathroom redone but they wanted to put a prime focus on upscaling and being eco-friendly where possible. The company who installed the bathroom heard them loud and clear, and they proceeded to recycle and reuse as many items as possible. Unfortunately, this led to them turning an old urinal into a sink. They added taps and tried to convert it as much as possible, but it is safe to say that the client wasn’t happy. It’s possible that they took the “eco-friendly” point a bit too far, and although the idea was inventive, it certainly wasn’t practical or hygienic.

Don’t Put Any Holes in the Walls

When this person got their bathroom redone, they asked the modelling company not to put any holes in the walls. This was very easy to do, considering they just wanted a new bathroom suite. The issues arose when the toilet roll holder needed installing. They had to drill it into the countertop that was around the corner, which meant that whoever used the bathroom had to go on a treasure hunt with their pants around their ankles. Probably not most people’s idea of fun.

Of course, if the above stories are anything to go by, it’s safe to say that it is very important that you hire a reputable company when getting your home remodeling Houston job done.
